Various Competitions Organized by Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya to Conclude Anti-Ragging Week

LUCKNOW — In line with the directives of the University Grants Commission, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow, concluded its Anti-Ragging Week, which ran from August 12 to August 18, 2025. A series of competitions were held on the final day to mark the end of the awareness campaign.

The university organized various competitions at the campus’s Sujan Auditorium, including poster making, logo design, slogan writing, essay writing, quiz, debate, and street play competitions related to anti-ragging awareness. Students from the university participated with great enthusiasm.

All competitions were conducted under the supervision of guest lecturer Dr. Kritika Tripathi, who stated that approximately 40 students from different classes participated wholeheartedly in the events. The students’ street play performance, showcased to the general public on campus, received widespread appreciation.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mandavi Singh announced that the Anti-Ragging Week program has been incorporated into the university’s annual academic calendar this year. She explained that the goal of this week-long initiative is to raise awareness among students to create a safe and respectful environment for all on campus. She also mentioned that certificates would be awarded to all students who participated in the competitions.

Program coordinator Dr. Ruchi Khare noted that the participants made the competition highly engaging and of a high standard with their dedication, strategic thinking, and focus.

Several participants expressed that the event was a new and inspiring experience for them, providing them with valuable information about their rights and the rules for a dignified education. Teachers and staff also praised it as a positive initiative.

Registrar Dr. Srishti Dhawan stated that the purpose of such events is to provide a positive, healthy, and creative environment for the holistic development of teachers, students, and staff. She added that creative programs and competitions help to foster intellectual freedom, critical thinking, concentration, and decision-making skills in students. She concluded by saying that the university’s goal is to ensure student safety by regularly holding such events every academic session.
